HOW TO TIGHTEN YOUR FACEBOOK SECURITY ACCOUNT AGAINST HACKERS:systemdigits.com
I have been called by friends and email too of ways they can tighten their facebook accounts against some new faceless hackers on the prowl hacking facebook account. So I decided to compose this piece of article to help friends out there thinking on how they can secure their facebook account against these malicious intruders. What most hackers (expecially the black hackers), do to hack into someones facebook account is by first finding out the Email associated with such a targeted facebook account. Once they've successfully confirmed the email address associated with that such account, the next thing on their mind is send the victim a link to his/her email account claiming to come from facebook Team. This is known as a process of PHISHING/CLONING an original facebook page to a fake one, whereby the victim clicks the link and is taken to the fake facebook account. Then you're asked to key in your password to enable facebook to help you with better security or something similar to that.
I will advice all you and others here; make sure you don't have the email address you used to open facebook being displayed on your Facebook profile page info. Secondly, if atimes you do go to Cybercafe to browse and probably check your Facebook page, I want you guys here to note that Firefox Mozilla, Google Chrome absorbs/stores passwords and these passwords can be retrieved when a smart guy accesses such browser clients. Anyway, another thing to note is, don't click on any link sent to your email address, maybe at times such link maybe claiming that they are from Facebook or Yahoo, This is what we call Phishing and cloning. Someones password can be retrieved via this. Thirdly, try as much as possible to set a security authentication via your Facebook privacy settings whereby you set it up that whenever someone tries to access you Facebook page using another location/ip address, then some certain questions will be ask and the intruder may not be able to get pass more than that level. It is not about accepting friends requests from strangers, because that stranger can in turn hack one of your friends Facebook account and then get to you via that. Try as much as possible to make sure your password has at least mixture of Cap key, symbols, small letter and digital numbers. At least one in four months, try and change your password.
USING 2-FACTOR FACEBOOK AUNTHENTICATION TO PROTECT YOUR FACEBOOK ACCOUNT:
First, click on Privacy Basics>Settings>Security Settings>Login Approvals; Here you will see, USE YOUR PHONE AS AN EXTRA LAYER OF SECURITY TO KEEP OTHER PEOPLE FROM LOGIN IN TO YOUR FACEBOOK. Click on EDIT beside it and click on the check box that appears near it with the instruction; Require a security code to access my account from unknown browsers (Unknown browsers is a computer or phone you haven't used before or from entirely a different IP/Location).
With this method, Facebook sends to the phone number associated with your facebook account a dynamic generated passkey to enable you log in to your facebook account whenever you're accessing your facebook from another computer, app, or location.
NOTE: THIS METHOD MAKES YOUR PASSWORD DYNAMIC, EVEN THOUGH YOUR FRIEND, WIFE KNOWS YOUR INITIAL PASSWORD, THEY WON'T STILL BE ABLE TO LOGIN TO YOUR FACEBOOK ACCOUNT OR VIA AN APP, THOUGH YOU HAVE TO ENABLE THE APP OWN TOO. PLEASE AND PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU HAVE YOUR CORRECT PHONE NUMBER ASSOCIATED WITH YOUR FACBEOOK ACCOUNT BEFORE VENTURING INTO THIS.
The second authentication procedure you may wish to use is the one of TRUSTED CONTACTS:
What are TRUSTED CONTACTS? Trusted contacts are close friends that you can call for help if you ever have trouble accessing your account. You have to trust someone before making him/her a trusted contact, maybe your trusted wife or girl friend etc. Their help is to help you generate a code you will use to access your facebook account in case you forgot your password etc. Trusted account can help you a lot once someone gains access to your facebook account.
With this kind of security setting, each time anyone whether the real owner or a hacker, tries to access your facebook accout, immediately facebook will send to your phone number another facebook generated password with which to login to facebook. why is that so? Becos you're at the moment accessing facebook from another ip address and anoda different browser other than the previous one you used to access it. even if u are accessing it from a new install facebook app, a new generated passkey is sent to ur mobile phone inbox. Then with the passkey, u can login to facebook acct; while that passkey will serve as a password to access ur facebook acct. So with this higher level of security, the hacker won't be able to access ur Facebook account, unless you have a domestic hacker who is with you phone (laughs). I will advice you to try this security authentication from a laptop or an ipad. Finally, make sure your email address doesn't show up on ur facebook profile info. Please share this to help your friend know what and what to do when they are hacked or to protect their facebook account. Written by Donfrancis Osaji.
